We are fortunate to serve Sultan as Sultan roofers. Sultan was once Native American land and was eventually named after the local Chief, Chief Tseul-ted. The settlers mispronounced his name, and the town went down in history as Sultan. As settlers migrated and claimed the land, Sultan became a staple for the logging community in the Snohomish region. When Sulton became an incorporated community in 1905, it remained a small town. In the 1960s, one of the first in the State of Washington multi-day rock music festivals, Sky River Rock Festival and Lighter Than Air Fair, caused a population boom in Sultan. This big event was hosted on farmland outside of town and attracted over 20,000 people from around the state. Today, Sultan is known for its gorgeous location, nestled right near the Cascade mountains and the Sultan River.

If you are looking for a challenging yet beautiful trek through Sultan, the Sulton River Canyon Trail is a great place to spend a day outdoors. The beginning of this trail is a decline towards switchbacks that veer away from the roadside trail. At this point in the trail, you will find yourself surrounded by forest, like something out of Jumanji. The immersive experience is one of our favorite ways to exercise and tune in with nature. After wandering through these switchbacks on a well-kept, paved trail, the hike begins to decline. This challenging trail is well worth the trek. You will emerge at a wonderful spot right on the banks of the Sultan River. This part of the river is open for swimming and river walking. We think this is one of the coolest ways to spend a day in Sultan.

Another adventure not far from Sultan is the Stillwater Ranch, an awesome place to take the family for a day of horseback riding, hiking, kayaking, and fishing. Stillwater Ranch has all the supplies you need to start on your adventure, whatever it may be. Every time we go horseback riding or kayaking in the Sultan area, this is the place to go. If your little ones want to get a feel for the pony before saddling up, the Ranch offers some basic lessons to help get you started.

Sultan also boasts some mouthwatering food. Bubba’s Roadhouse Bar and Grill make some of our all-American classics. We think their dishes live up to Bubba’s motto: “Eat Big Food.” The size of their dishes is astonishing. We recommend dining in and sharing a meal with a partner and some buddies. Their thick, juicy burgers are our favorite on the menu. Hearty food isn’t the only thing they provide to their guests. Fridays and Saturdays are live music and DJ nights. We love dinner and a show, and all guests are encouraged to get down on the dance floor after a bite to eat and a couple of cocktails. Kids of all ages can enjoy the music and food until around 9 pm.
