The cedar used is a superior premium grade, sustainably harvested, three-quarter hand-split cedar, CCA treated for resistance to pests and fungi.
Sourced mainly from windfall cedar on Vancouver Island, the cedar shakes are installed on the rooftop with stainless steel nails over underlayment, ensuring the roofing system's longevity for 50 years. The cedar shake roof has an impressive 50-year warranty, reflecting its quality and durability. Beyond its beauty and durability, a cedar roof blends seamlessly with the natural environment of the Pacific Northwest and offers eco-friendly and energy efficiency benefits.
Three Tree Roofing installed a WeatherBond 60-mil TPO membrane in areas with flat roof sections, a durable, energy-efficient, and environmentally-friendly roofing solution, making it an excellent choice for this home. The TPO roof has a 20-year labor and material warranty backed by WeatherBond.

The Pacific Northwest is known for green trees, rain, and forests. How cool is it to have a cedar shake roof? We only see a few of them because good-quality cedar is hard to get. We have a great relationship with our supply houses, so they let us know the wood quality they're getting and whether we should be using it for roofing or giving it to siders for siding.
The cedar we use on this rooftop is premium grade, sustainably harvested, three-quarter hand-split cedar, and CCA treated for resistance to pests and fungi. Sourced mainly from windfall cedar on Vancouver Island, this wood is installed on the rooftop with stainless steel nails over underlayment, ensuring a roofing system's longevity for 50 years.
We're using all these components, so the roof should live 50 years. It's a really neat option in our area to get a 50-year warranty on a cedar shake roof. The roof looks awesome, blends into the environment, and gives you that Pacific Northwest vibe.
This roof does have a flat section too. In that area, we installed a 60-mil TPO membrane. The TPO roof has a 20-year labor and material warranty. If you have any questions on residential or commercial roofing, feel free to give us a call at 206-312-7663 (ROOF). Thanks
