Video Description

In Bellevue, Three Tree Roofing undertook a significant roof replacement project for a home with an old Cedar Shake roof that showed signs of leaking. The team recycled the old Cedar Shake responsibly at Glacier Recycling. They installed new half-inch CDX plywood across the entire roof deck to facilitate the transformation to a composite roof, a necessary step common for homes with old Cedar Shake roofs.

The installation involved perimeter edge metals and synthetic underlayment to ensure a robust foundation. Finally, the team installed the impressive Moiré Black CertainTeed Landmark TL shingles, known for their triple laminate build, adding depth and enhancing the roof's aesthetic appeal. The successful transformation left both the team and the customer delighted with the outcome.

We were called out to Bellevue to help this house. It had an old cedar shake roof, a typical roof in the Pacific Northwest. It was a popular roof, too, and still is, but it was leaking; it had put its time in, and it was time to replace it. When we take off the cedar, we recycle it at Glacier Recycling. They grind up the old cedar and use it as mulch and beauty bark.

We installed all-new plywood. Having no plywood when you have a cedar shake roof is common because it's unnecessary. We're converting from the cedar shake roof to a composition roof, so we needed to install 1/2 inch CDX plywood over the entire roof deck. Then, we began building the roof using perimeter edge metals and synthetic underlayment to ensure a robust foundation. Three Tree Roofing installed a pretty Moiré Black CertainTeed Landmark TL, a triple laminate shingle. It's a thicker shingle because it has a whole extra layer, giving the roof additional definition. It looks good.

This roof turned out great. We're really excited with the way it came out. The customer is happy. If you have any questions on a commercial or residential roof, please call us at (206) 312- 7663.
